Rosebud Annexe Extension

Situated in the established residential neighborhood of Ramhlun Venglai, within the vibrant city of Aizawl, Mizoram, this project reimagines an existing residence through a thoughtful renovation and extension. Respecting the character of the original structure, the new addition introduces contemporary functionality while preserving a sense of familiarity and home.

The extension is designed to accommodate private residential use at the ground floor, while the basement and rooftop terrace serve the adjoining school, creating a seamless coexistence between domestic and educational spaces. Generous floor-to-ceiling openings define the ground level, dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior and inviting natural light, ventilation, and the surrounding landscape into the heart of the home. Through this careful dialogue between old and new, private and communal, the project transforms a modest residence into a space that is both purposeful and enduring.
